VitrA Tiles Expands Its Renewable Energy Portfolio with Aksaray Solar Plant

VitrA Tiles has officially switched on its Aksaray solar power plant, furthering its dedication to green energy solutions.

As a major brand within the Eczacıbaşı Group, VitrA Tiles continues to prioritise renewable energy investments. The completion of the Aksaray Solar Power Plant (SPP) follows the 3.5 MW rooftop solar facility in Bozüyük, which began operating in 2023. With a 30 MWe/36 MWp capacity, this new facility will contribute to over half of the company’s electricity consumption in Türkiye coming from renewable sources this year.

Leading the Shift to Green Energy

The Aksaray SPP will produce enough electricity to power approximately 19,700 households annually. Featuring 65,520 PV modules, each with a 550 Wp capacity, the plant will also reduce carbon emissions by 37,190 tonnes per year.

VitrA Tiles CEO Mert Karasu reiterated the company’s long-term sustainability vision, stating: “We aim to produce half of our electricity consumption from our own renewable energy facilities by 2025 and all of it by 2030 and thanks to this investment, we are one step closer to our global goals by further reducing our carbon footprint. We are committed to meeting all our electricity needs from renewable sources in the future.”

Work on the Aksaray SPP began in April 2024, with electricity generation starting in February 2025 after the completion of PV module installations, inverters, transformers, and power transmission lines. This project plays a key role in shaping the future of renewable energy in the sector.
