The clip shows the first man wearing a motorcycle helmet walking towards the door, while the second man is using a sledgehammer.

He continued to repeatedly hit the door with his hammer, seemingly trying to break it.

The gunman, masked and hooded, is seen taking a position behind him and breaking the gun. He also loads cartridges from a tracksuit pocket.

But a brave woman shouts out from the camera, “Get out of my house!”

The gunman fires. It is believed that the pellets struck the window, but no one was injured.

The man wearing the crash helmet seemed unhappy and began to argue with the gunman.

While much of what is being said is hard to hear, the man in the helmet can be heard saying “Why did you shoot?” I just fired …”

Officers were called at Christopher Court, which was full of young children and families, near Thorpe Garth (Idle) at 1:34 a.m. by the 999 caller.

A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “I heard a loud bang at first but there were two shots.

“When I heard it, I thought my car windows were broken.

“Two men riding bicycles were crashing into the door and trying get in the house.

A woman shouted out from the upstairs window, wanting to know what they were doing.

One of them pulled out a gun and they didn’t seem concerned.

“After that, a lot more neighbors came to check her out. We are a close-knit community. We look out to each other.”

“But we’ve had additional incidents here, so people got Ring doors.

There is never a dull moment in this place. You can hear a thud in the night and wonder what it is.

It’s scary stuff. We don’t sleep much.”

Christopher Court is the name of the street after Christopher Kershaw who died in Afghanistan in 2012.

“If his family knew about what was happening here, I don’t know what they would think,” said a local resident.

The area was closed for a lengthy forensic examination.

Chief Detective Matt Holdsworth, West Yorkshire policeHe said: “It is clear that any firearms release will cause some concern in the local community, and I would like to reassure members of the public that we take all firearms incidents very seriously and have extensive investigations under way to determine those responsible.

He said, “Neighborhood Patrols have been intensified within the area to provide reassurance.”

The footage caused outrage among the residents of the city, which was named the European City of Culture.
