Tevva Electric Trucks gears up for UK Mass Production

After receiving approval from EU and UK regulators, electric truck manufacturer Tevva will begin mass production of electric vehicles.

The scale up, based in Essex, has been approved by the UK’s Vehicle Certification Agency and the Swedish Transport Agency. This means that it can produce and sell trucks with right-hand or left-hand drive.

“I am incredibly proud of our team who worked tirelessly to secure this certification and get our 7.5-tonne electric truck into the hands of customers and on the roads,” CEO Asher Bennett said in a statement.

Tevva trucks can travel up to 140 miles with a single battery of 105 kilowatts (kWh).

A new fleet hydrogen-powered range-extending trucks will increase range to 354 mi later in the year.

“By embracing both hydrogen and electricity fuel sources, we can rethink the energy mix in transportation, reduce stress on our power grid, and accelerate adoption of electric trucks,” Bennett added.
