The soap star, aged 75, faced an intruder holding a hammer in her Bayswater, West, home. LondonThe court heard.
Jewellery, keys, checkbook, wallet and mobile phone are believed to have been stolen in the raid on her £750,000 estate.
David Wilson, 56, was charged with burglary as well as aggravated robbery on September 25th.
His trial was set to begin on 8 February, but he turned up at Southwark Crown Court on Friday (6 Jan).
The charges were dismissed by the defendant who claimed that he entered the actress’s “home as an trespasser” and attempted to steal her property.
His charges also state that Wilson was armed with a weapon of violence, namely a Hammer, at the time he committed the burglary.
Wilson is still in custody. Corey Stefani, his co-star, will likely be called to testify as a witness.
Stephanie recently returned to the famous stones in a major role, reprising Martha’s character after her debut in 2009.
She quickly returned to her role and caused trouble for Ken Barlow (William Roache) not long after.
During rehearsals for AmDram’s play, Martha was there to help Marie (Patti Claire), through her lines.
The tension was evident right from the beginning, as they became closer again, despite Ken romance Wendy. Later, the pair insulted him during a live performance.
Their reunion is cut short when Martha tells Ken that she is ready for rehearsals for a new play at Hull.
Stephanie is not only a star of the beloved soap but she has also been acclaimed internationally for her acting work, including Sable Colby in Dynasty.
She starred in 23 episodes opposite Joan Collins, John Forsythe and John Forsythe on the American classic drama.
Stephanie then appeared in 49 episodes of The Colbys, a Dynasty spinoff.
The TV icon also starred on the BBC drama Tenko, and made guest appearances in shows such as Casualty and Bad Girls.
