More than half the British adult population “has no confidence whatsoever” in it Rishi SunakAccording to a new survey, the canal’s crisis in migration could be solved.
This analysis is a blow to the prime minister, who has vowed not to allow small boats to carry asylum seekers across the Channel. The big New Year’s speech just yesterday.

However, a PeoplePolling study of GB newsHe found that the electorate was not willing to trust him.
“Unless Rishi Sunak can change these numbers, it will be game over in the next general election.”

Only 4% answered that they were “completely or somewhat” confident in the government’s ability to solve the crisis. 57% were not confident at any point.
52% of Conservative voters say they are not sure at all, while 72% of Labor voters are.
Only 3% are confident that the government will solve the small boat crisis.
Political expert Professor Matt Goodwin said: “This week Rishi Sunak has set resolving the small boat crisis as a priority for his government in 2023.
But, his numbers show that he has a lot to do.
“Most voters have no faith in government on this issue, which we must remember is the third biggest issue for all voters and the second most important issue for the Conservatives.
“Unless Rishi Sunak can change these numbers, it will be game over in the next general election.
“Make no mistake. It now succeeds or stops migrating.”
Sunak may find some solace in the polls, that the public needs convincing that KeirStarmer is the right person for the job.
When asked if they had either a positive or negative view of Starmer by the audience, 30% said yes and 39% said no.
Goodwin said: “We are currently seeing a greater number of people who plan on voting Labor than people who have positive opinions about Starmer.”
However, the Conservatives remain at a historic low 22% in terms of voting intentions.
46% voted Labor when asked how they would vote. (down 1 percent from last week)The Conservatives were at 22% (+3), and the Liberal Democrats at just 7% (-1). Greens 7% (-2) & Fix 8% (no difference).
This represents a 3-point rise in support for Conservative Party but the party still trails.
Goodwin stated that the lights on the dashboard were still flashing red for Rishi and the Conservative Party.
