Martina Navratilova was found to have stage I breast cancer and throat cancer.
The breast cancer, which is still early in its development, was discovered through throat scans. It is believed to be unrelated. Navratilova, 66, was previously diagnosed with non-invasive breast cancer — ductal carcinoma in situ, or DCIS — in 2010.
People magazine said that Navratilova stated that “this double whammy is dangerous, but still fixable.” “It will stink for a while, but I will fight with everything I have.”
Navratilova will begin cancer treatment this month. Treatment is effective for throat cancer.
