NatWest chief Rose receives Damehood in King’s first honours list

Alison Rose, Head of High Street and a NatWest taxpayer who is still part-owned, will be Damehood into King Charles’ first New Year’s honors lists since the Queen succeeded him.

Rose, 53 years old, was the first woman to lead a major UK bank when she was named CEO in November 2019.

She was awarded Damehood Medal for her contributions to financial service. Rose was a champion in improving women’s representation on city boards. She also wrote a government-supported report that promoted women’s entrepreneurship.

“It is a great honor and a privilege to be named Damehood on His Majesty’s New Year’s Honors list. I am also extremely proud to have led an organization that plays such an important role in the lives of families and individuals across the UK.

“This honor is a reflection of the amazing work of all my colleagues at the NatWest Group and the support we provide to clients and the communities we serve; promoting enterprise, building financial capacity, and channeling the power of finance to address climate change.”

Anita Margaret Frew is a Croda chemicals head and City veteran. She will also be Damehood from the King

Frou was also last year named first female president of Rolls-Royce Airlines.

Dr Julie Maxton (Executive Director of the Royal Society) will also be presented with the Damehood Medal.

Denis Lewis, Head Commonwealth Games England, and Nicola Dandridge, Head of Student Office, will carry the Damehood bag.

Ivan Menezes CEO of the FTSE 100 maker Guinness & Diageo will be knighted.
Grayson Perry, an artist, and Roland Keating, chief executive at the British Library, will both be knighted.
