A young girl was seriously injured in a Christmas Day accident that occurred in south east Wales.

Two others, including a 29 year-old man seriously injured, were also taken by ambulance to hospital.

The accident took place at Yard Coal Rise in Blackwood (Gwent), around 1pm.

Police stated that the accident involved the Vauxhall Corsa and Mini Cooper, as well as the Vauxhall Astra.

A 29-yearold man was severely injured, while a 3-year-old girl sustained serious injuries.

They were all taken to the hospital after they had traveled in Corsa.

A spokesperson for police said that the Mini Cooper driver suffered minor injuries.

A police spokesperson stated that he was being held under suspicion of three offenses: serious injury by dangerous driving and being unfit due to alcohol or drug use.

We made inquiries to find a red Vauxhall Astra. This car was also on the roads at the time. We have now located the car.

Another 25-year old man was also arrested for causing serious injury through dangerous driving and impropriety via alcohol or drug use.

Both men are currently in police custody.
