Spider-Man 2’s writers might have accidentally leaked information about the release date two days before the PS Store listing.
Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 remains one of the two major first-party exclusivities that Sony has lined-up for 2023. The other being Horizon Call Of The Mountain on PlayStation VR2.
Official information is still scarce, with the game getting only a passing mention Game Awards.
Insomniac has reassured fans of that Development is progressing wellThere was speculation that a new announcement might be made in the near future. In the meantime, it appears that a fall 2023 release window was not confirmed.
Jamie Meyer, one the game’s writers, updated her personal website recently, listing Spider-Man 2 as a fall 2023 release.
I’ve since deleted the details, with the game going back to a 2023 launch, but that’s the internet. People would have already noticed the information and shared.
Although it is possible that this is an internal release date and Insomniac might push the game back, a fall launch would make more sense. It could be a good idea to launch it near Christmas. Insomniac is also believed to be preparing to release the release date. A listing for Spider-Man 2 was posted on the UK PlayStation Store earlier this week. You can also wishlist it.
This seems to have been intentional. Insomniac community manager James Stephenson retweeted his discovery. However, the list wasn’t quickly pulled, suggesting that it was up earlier than it should.
We don’t know yet if Sony will announce a release date or have a new trailer ready for State of Play presentations. It will be a blog post with the second template.

The trailer shows Miles Morales as the main character and more Spider-People coming from other universes. Luckily, eagle-eyed fans can quickly spot Insomniac’s Spider-Man in the crowd.
It is unlikely that he will play a major role in the movie’s story. And even if he does have a role, he could be more antagonistic as the trailer shows most of the Spider-People stalking Miles and attacking him.
Spider-Man 2 is planned for PlayStation 5 in 2023.
