Sandy ToksvigAfter being diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia, he cancelled a number of tour dates.
The 64-year-old Comedian and Broadcaster best known for hosting Great British breadTheir tour of New Zealand was to begin on Sunday with QI and Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland.
Toksvig stated that she would like to return to the UK once her health allows for it.
She said: “Due to illness, Sandy has canceled the New Zealand leg of her tour.
“She was hospitalized with bronchial pneumonia while still in Australia and unable to travel and perform.
“Our primary goal is to get her back to the UK as soon and as healthy as possible.”
Bronchial pneumonia is a type pneumonia that causes severe inflammation of both the bronchi (two large tubes that carry air from your trachea to your lungs), and sometimes patches of inflammation in adjacent areas.
Toksvig recently completed a series in Australia with live dates, visiting cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide.
Her show, titled Sandi Toksvig Live! It is described as an “evening full of comedy and curiosity” that includes “unknown facts” and “tall tales” with some “really silly” jokes.
Toksvig announced her resignation from Bake Off as co-host in January 2020. She stated that she wanted more time to work on other projects.
Matt Lucas, Little Britain’s star, has been announced as her replacement. He will join Noel Fielding in the tent of Channel 4 to present.
