The World Cup 2022Qatar opened on November 20, with 32 teams hoping to reach the final and become the world champions on December 18.

This tournament is the first to take place in the Arab world, and the second in Asia. It was held in 2002 after the events were hosted by South Korea and Japan. This tournament will be the last to feature 32 teams. The tournament will be expanded to include 48 countries starting in 2026.

France, the World Cup defending champions, is among the favourites. However, no European team has successfully defended it since 1962 when Brazil was invaded by Spain, England, and Belgium. Brazil and Argentina will likely be in the knockout stage, while Senegal could be Africa’s biggest hope of winning for the very first time.

The host country Qatar opened their tournament against Ecuador before taking on Senegal, Senegal, and the Netherlands. This was originally scheduled to be the first match in the 2022 World Cup.
