Monday’s Messages page wishes Nintendo could help out more on Pokémon, as one reader has a theory about the PS5’s live-service games.

Maybe next year
So, we saw the smallest amount price movement X-BoxX series during Black FridayThis is because Microsoft’s console is second (well, actually third) in terms of overall stock and has been slightly more than the PlayStation 5 this past year. My obvious question is: When will we see discounts on the PlayStation 5?
Unless there are suddenly some Cyber Monday deals, which I very much doubt, there could be Black Friday2023, assuming the inventory situation will improve by then. I would like to believe so, but I can’t afford one right now. I will probably wait until next Christmas. Even if the game situation doesn’t improve much before the middle of next Year.
I don’t know, though. My guess is that they will only make a modest price cut and will continue to rely on hardware bundles in order to make it appear like a better deal. It’s hard to argue that the global financial crisis, regardless of what they call, could not have come at a worse moment for the gaming industry. Or me.

First day freebie
Have you ever considered that the reason Sony is so eager to make so many live-service games is not to jump on the bandwagon but because they see it their alternative to Game Pass.
Assuming that all these live service games will be free to play, which they haven’t confirmed yet, I suppose given that you can have 10 or more of these games, then you suddenly have a lot of first party games that you can get free starting day one on PlayStation 5.
Problem with this is that they may not be the games people want to buy the console (although who knows at this stage!). Sony wouldn’t have all 10 games for so many years, but that’s likely their logic and it seems Very reasonable to me. However, all eyes will be on The Last Of Us multiplayer. Let’s just hope that there aren’t too few microtransactions.
Angel Eyes
GC:This is a great idea.
There is no turning back
Black Friday 2022? I didn’t see anything that would tempt my money. Gotham Knights and Saints Row. Yes. I will wait for them to pay to me in the next two months.
I know it has been a funny and good year. However, it is still odd to see Black Friday without any hardware or software deals. The gaming industry has had a major problem with the pandemic. At first, it was a good thing. But then it became a big problem. When will it return to normal? Will it ever be normal again? I think not.

Some like Hoth
I just defeated God Of War Ragnarök and I support it a lot but it’s not as good as the original. Although it was not bad, I found several areas very similar to the original game. It’s likely the same legends, but how many more icy planets do we need?
The story was also an issue for me. It felt very tangled and for so long, it was unclear what the big picture was. Although you knew where your next target was, the plot can be summarized as “I think we should do something about Odin”.
Although the ending was satisfactory, it wasn’t as good and felt a little too climactic. I liked some elements, but I can’t go into spoilers. Overall, I thought it was good, but not great. This sums up the game for me. GC Review 8/10It was perfect in my opinion.

The last option
Here’s a quick idea for Stephen’s coplay puzzle. It is not an option if Portal 2 or Wolfenstein Youngblood are your choices for co-op.
Portal 2 is gaming heaven. It’s one of the few reboots I’ve ever done.
Wolfenstein Youngblood was free with my first graphics card, and I would describe it on a PC as beautiful but boring. I was not able to finish it.
Co-ops are also available in Overcooked 1 or 2. You can play coop on the couch, or online, with PC.
We hope it helps!

GC: We think you’re being a bit harsh on Youngblood but we agree that we’ll play those other games before.
Nintendo nest
There has been a lot tech talk lately. As a Switch player, I feel the same. I didn’t manage to catch Pokemon (the most I have is technically suspect Shin Megami Tensei 5), so it’s hard to comment on how performance issues affected the experience. Based on Digital Foundry and other online rhetoric, it looks terrible. Some funny screenshots.
I feel like those (not crazy) fans are complaining online that, after playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3, it doesn’t make sense for Nintendo to put out something that looks like Pokémon. You can say what you want about Sony’s Identikit titles, but they have cut back on technology consistency with their studios. Nintendo merged its handheld console and home console divisions years prior to the Switch’s release and it’s still struggling. Fire Emblem is another generation that seems behind Zelda, Mario and others.
Nintendo has always looked like an old-fashioned company that relied too heavily on individual geniuses (who never got older) to complete projects. It’s very Japanese, you could say. This is quite a contrast to Capcom who, thanks to its RE engine, which spans multiple studios, is able consistently to produce great, technically enjoyable games. Monster Hunter Rise is the most technically advanced game on Switch.
Why wouldn’t Nintendo (a wealthier company) do this? Monolith Soft’s work on Xenoblade Chronicles, and the recent Zeldas seem perfectly positioned to provide these tools. This is the plan for game development on Switch 2, with any luck.
It’s a shame, as out of the Pokémon rhetoric the Transformer had a year’s end. The Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade 3 sequels look and work great, and the ports of classics such as NieR: Automata and Tunic are more durable than the system. Bayonetta 3 is still in the backlog. I’m so overwhelmed that Zelda won’t be getting it until Christmas next year.

GC: Technically, Game Freak and The Pokémon Company aren’t Nintendo proper, but you’re still right this shouldn’t happen. Fire Emblem is another game whose graphics were given an unrestricted free pass that Scarlet/Violet somehow overlooked, and it’s primarily third-party.
Escape the battle royale
Call Of Duty isn’t my favorite game, but I love DMZ. The AI is strong and well-written, the area is large and interesting, the tension with human opponents in the mix, and the limited time for extraction keep you on your toes.
It’s a great free game. This is the best game you’ve ever played if you like co-op shooters, Escape From Tarkov, or Hunt: Showdown.

The postcard contains the answers.
Cross-play is a problem in the US, and I agree with you. I feel that PC games have become tedious due to hacks and cheats.
I own an Xbox and PlayStation so I can play with my friends on either one. Friends on either device also understand that I have other friends who I won’t play with, or want me to play.
Crossover is unnecessary. It’s not necessary to cross-promote. Buy a computer and learn how to purchase Xbox and PlayStation. You can play with friends or make new online friends by buying the consoles.
Sony and Microsoft, I hope that you can see this message. However, you can also understand why cross-play is detrimental to the community and Playerbase’s health. Crosshairs should be removed from all games. Let people cry about it.
People can’t excuse that PC is overrated. This is because PCs are superior to consoles.
Last but not least: crossplay and complaining about small things is not a good idea. These people make excuses and are jealous of others. There is no need for you to cross.
Games for all devices
GC: We are confused.
Also, incoming mail rans
Today, buying a console right after it launches is like jumping into a swimming pool that isn’t full of water. You’ll be waiting years for the best games to come out.

GC:We might even steal it, but that’s fine.
GameStop has apparently leaked a lot of data. Although we are unsure if there is any left in the UK, it is time to change you password.

Hot topic for the week
Next week, The Game Awards will be hosting a series of announcements and screenshots about upcoming games.
It doesn’t really matter if the game was already announced. As long as there’s a reasonable possibility it will be revealed next weekend, we’ll say GTA 6 before everyone else writes about it. But who knows?
What are you expecting from the first trailer? Which game do you anticipate the most in 2023?
