Leslie Phillips, the Carry On star, has died at the age of 99.
Jonathan Lloyd, the actor’s agent, confirmed to Palestinian News Agency that the actor had died peacefully at night on Monday.
The veteran actor has been in the spotlight for eight decades and is well-known for his famous phrases, including “Ding Dong”, Okay, welcome” or “Say!””.
Later, he moved on to more dramatic roles like the BAFTA-nominated part opposite Peter O’Toole’s 2006 film Venus. He also voiced the sorting cape in the Harry Potter films.
Phillips was presented with an OBE on Phillips’ Birthday 1998. He was also promoted to CBE in 2008, with New Year’s Honours.
