After another surprising dance-off, Ellie Simmonds is relegated to Strictly Come Dancing.

Eli SymondsShe was the sixth celebrity to be ejected from this year’s series Strictly come dance.

The Paralympic swimmer, along with the CBBC presenter, landed in the bottom two over the weekend. Molly RainfordDespite being fourth and third on Saturday night’s leaderboard, they were still in the live show.

After the two stars performed their routines a second time the jury unanimously voted that they liked them both but they wanted Molly to be saved.

Reflecting on the time she spent at the show, the gold medalist said Tess Daly: “I really had the time of my life. It was the most amazing experience – really life changing.”

She said, “I loved dancing every day, and I’ll dance forever.” It’s amazing, this life-changing show.”

She turns her attention to her partner in dance Nikita KuzminEllie continued, “He transformed my life.” We had the most amazing days. We had many days of dancing, but also days where we talked for hours.

“The confidence you gave me – I look confident but you know what I love, I worry about everything a lot and we literally represented everything.

“We went out there, we danced for hours every night, and I loved it so much.”

Then Nikita said in tears: “I am a little disappointed that I wanted Ellie to spend more time on this TV show, and I know how much that means to her.

“I am really happy that this trip was with [Ellie]She taught me a lot and showed me empathy. In these seven weeks, I learned a lot.

Els said, “I love and cherish you,” he continued. “I just want to tell you that everyone in this room loves you.

“This is just to say how beautiful you are, you take the time to go to everyone inside this room, you care about everyone, you are just a wonderful human being and I am so glad I had the opportunity to dance with you.”

Nine pairs remain in contention, with the next live broadcast on Saturday at 6.55pm BBC One.
