While the numbers have been pulled and the winner of the $1.6billion Powerball jackpot has been announced, players still await the announcement.
The drawing numbers were: white balls 28, 45, 53 and 56, respectively, 69 and red Powerball 20.
It wasn’t immediately clear if there was a grand-prize winner. Sometimes it can take hours to submit a report from the state lottery and determine if there is a winner.
The grand prize winner will have to choose between an annuity payment that spreads the money over 29-years or a cash payment. Nearly all winners opt to receive cash. Saturday night’s draw will estimate that the total prize pool is $782.4 Million.
The odds of any ticket winning the jackpot are 1 out 292.2 million. This is why it took three months for anyone to match all six balls.
The record jackpot narrowly surpassed the previous high of $1.586 trillion, which was won in 2016 by three ticket holder.
